REAWAKENING THE GODDESS
In the religions of the ancient world women played a major role. Yet over time, women lost these roles as Christianity became a major force in the world.
Christianity as a "traditional value" has little heritage in history in spite of its pretensions. The dominance by Christianity of world religion is a very recent event, a product of one of the most brutal and savage campaigns of world imperialism ever known. All too often Christian "missionaries" teamed up with big business to put a pretty face on the slaughter of local populations.
Some key forms of "Christianity" being peddled today as "traditional values" have even less heritage than Christianity itself. Evangelical Christianity was only invented two hundred years ago. John Wesley, the founder of evangelical Christianity had a marriage that turned into a nightmare, a portent of the contrast between rhetoric about "family values" and reality.
The "Christian" era of world history brought the world the greatest world wars in history and crimes such as the Holocaust. Today, the world system that it has helped to create is presiding over the greatest destruction of life since the Permian extinction 250 million years ago. Scientists warn that unless drastic changes are made, the world faces disaster and a human death toll in the billions.
Unfortunately, a good part of the followers of the Jesus cult are at war with the scientists just as they were when Galileo tried to reawaken the world to the fact (long known in the ancient world) that the world was round not flat.
Religious delusions today are a direct threat to the survival of the planet. Most evangelicals are fighting efforts to stop global warming. The Catholic Church and evangelicals have joined in an axis of evil to fight responsible efforts at sex education and family planning, placing the health of hundreds of millions at risk.
The destruction of life by Christianity is directly connected to sick views about human sexuality and the role of women in society.
Fortunately, there is a reawakening of ancient values.
In the ancient world and in the religions of the ancient world women played a major role.

WHO CELEBRATE THEIR POWER AND RAW, CRUDE SEXUALITY
Today, we see in the world of art and music a reawakening of that role. We also see a reawakening of open and healthy views of human sexuality.
However, it important to note that we are in a era of transition.
We living in a twilight of false gods, a twilight of idols.
Natural systems and ideas are going to reassert themselves. However, the current world system is such a contradiction of reality that the transition to real traditional values is not likely to a peaceful one.
So much damage has been done already to natural ecosystems that a very large death toll is likely. In America the eight years of evangelical "family values" under George Bush led to the destruction of serious global efforts to stop climate change. These were eight critical years that have been lost. Meanwhile, Mr. Bush's "family values" led the greatest debt bubble in American history creating the greatest economic disaster since the Great Depression.
As the current world system collapses there is a role for modern goddesses. Women can be inspired to open their minds to the collective unconscious and become prophetic voices.
We see in art and music a reawakening of the past as powerful women rise up and trample down the false "traditional values" of postwar America concerning the role of women and human sexuality.
They are laying the groundwork for a return to a natural world that can stand the test of time.
