This is a controversial book by a controversial author about a very controversial subject.  The main character of the book is Varg Vikernes, probably the most controversial person in the world of heavy metal music.   He gained global fame by killing Euronymus, the key figure in Mayhem, a legend in the world of black metal.  (It should be noted that Vikernes insists that he acted in self defense.)   

In our view, the subtitle of the book, "THE BLOODY RISE OF THE SATANIC METAL UNDERGROUND"  is highly misleading since the main focus of Vikernes is not satanism at all but a revival of ancient paganism.

The subject matter of this revival of paganism is a key part of the agenda for the key author of the book Michael Moynihan, who has published a whole series of books related to both paganism and National Socialist Germany.  Moynihan himself has been accused of pro-Nazi ideas.
