LONDON METAL CLUBS

The Black Heart

The Black Heart is a Camden hidden gem with treats for the headbanger: death metal, affordable pints and leather seats. This dark-heated venue’s a biker bar/English tavern.

London-Berlin stoner doom Desertfest plays out of Black Heart. But other locations like The Electric Ballroom and Underworld are FF go-tos each April. Metal, indie, rock and hardline punk mix here in true city fashion.

Club Antichrist

Club Antichrist is a part-alternative, part-fetish and completely industrial nightclub with two large Hole Metal and PFI floors...plus a dungeon and fire room. Electrowerkz hosts bimonthly in Islington, London from 10pm-6am.

Industrial electronica and metal can play at once. Generation Graveyard, KDFDM, Maxdmyz, SHIV-R and Specimen were headliners. At least 1,500 attend Antichrist nightly.

The Devonshire Arms

The Dev bids everyone to “Come to the Sabbath”-another iconic Camden metal bar.

The Dome, Tufnell Park

The Dome has always brought a razor-sharp edge to Tufnell Park’s music scene. Belphegor, Emperor, Enthroned, Nile and more have come to shred. Top-tier metal acts choose The Dome.

The Dome slated Incineration Fest 2017, an international showcase for extreme metal. Lelahell, Inner Sanctum and Temple of Baal were notable acts last May.

Garlic and Shots

Garlic and Shots is an early 1990’s vampire bar in Southeast London where heavy metal plays in ‘The Crypt’.

KOKO

KOKO is an old Camden theater with an antique goth decór. It’s also a big contender for London’s most acclaimed music shows. KOKO’s billed musicians from Arch Enemy, Eagles of Death Metal, Marilyn Manson and Neurosis to Prince and Sepultura.

Like The Borderline and Forum though, eclectic sound’s expected.  They hosted the yearly Metal Hammer Awards in 2007 too.

The Underworld

Underworld Camden is in The World’s End pub, and its basement music shows are well-known. Amon Amarth, Agalloch, Avenged Sevenfold, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Dark Tranquility, LA Guns, Nova Twins, Queens of the Stone Age and more tour(ed) through The Underworld.  Alternative music across the nation centers around this small Camden venue, from British Steel and Thrash and Burn to unknown punk rock. Beware of the bathrooms.
